Pondering the PSAT

If your student took the PSAT in October 2022, their scores are now available in their College Board account. What was the reaction around your home?

A. "Woo-hoo! I’m awesome!”

B. "I am NEVER going to get in ANYWHERE!"

C. "Who cares? I didn’t even try.”

D. Oddly, all of the above.

Parents and students need to understand that there are many factors beyond mere academic knowledge that affect scores. Students (and parents) have a moment now, however, to take a deep breath and reset. No matter the results from the PSAT, all students have time and now is a great opportunity to prepare for the spring testing season.

Whatever the score, we can help. If students are pleased with the score, our tutors can keep those skills sharp and work to boost their score. If students scored lower than expected, we can help students understand why they may have underperformed so they can move forward with greater confidence, stronger skills, and a firmer sense of control.

If your student is a sophomore, know that big changes are ahead for the PSAT and SAT, as those tests will be moving online. If you are interested in taking the paper-and-pencil SAT, you have only a year, so plan accordingly. We are here when you need us!
